Sea salt is somewhat of a misnomer since all salt comes from the sea. But table salt is more refined and has non-clumping additives more than so-called sea salt. Himalayan salt (actually mined in Pakistan) has a pink color due to iron deposits and a different taste because of the mineral deposits that have been processed out of table salt. Redmond Real Salt doesn’t claim to be sea salt because it is mined in Utah but it also is a less processed salt with many minerals left in and a more flavorful taste. Kosher salt is more clumpy and less processed therefore easier to spread by hand. I usually use Redmond salt because it’s more readily available in supermarkets and has a better taste than table salt.
